Despite founding the company, Ferruccio Lamborghini wasn’t actually in charge of Lamborghini for that long. Selling the company in 1972, only nine years after its founding, his ownership never overlapped with the Countach. 

That’s why the first one he got his hands on was this example from 1980. The wide-body car was originally intended for another buyer, but when he got the call, Ferruccio asked that the car be changed from red to white, and bought it for himself.

Now, the car is with Tyrrell’s Classic Workshop where it’s niggles and faults and its signs of age are being massaged out. Watch the car get test-driven and its history outlined in the video below.
