Audi's spring at the Nurburgring continued today, as the spy photographers from CarPix captured a S5 Cabriolet test mule lapping the famous racetrack.  As usual, Audi's camouflage does a very good job of disguising the car underneath, but in this lighting, there are a few observations that can be made.

From the relatively little we can see, it seems that the S4's subtle rear decklid spoiler will make an appearance on the S5, as will the S4's aggressive front bumper.  Moving past the exterior bits we can make out, it seems that the S5 will continue the S4's emphasis on shedding weight.  From what we've been hearing, the new car could be as much as 250lbs lighter than the outgoing model.

So when will we finally get to see the production A5 and S5?  Right now, smart money is on Paris in late September, with an on-sale date sometime early next year for the coupe, and shortly after for the cab.  Check out more images of the S5 Cab test mule below, and keep an eye on Fourtitude for more S5 news as we get it.
