Last Tuesday, we said that the Orange Pearl Effect Audi R8 V10 plus was our 'favorite second-generation car yet.'  Less than 24 hours later, Audi of America one-upped their German counterparts by showing this Goodwood Green over Vermont Brown R8 V10 plus in New York.  We promptly ate our words.

So what makes this car so special that it quite possibly marks the fastest change of opinion in this site's history?  For starters, it's the first new Goodwood Green car we've seen in quite some time.  Originally popular on B6-era A4 and S4 models (also available on the B5 RS4 and other notable cars of the day), Goodwood Green was the exclamation point on the end of a decade where green cars were quite popular, and at times, downright cool.  It also has brown seats.  You can't go wrong with brown seats.

But we've never been ones to leave well enough alone- so what would we change?  For starters, we'd swap out the 19" 5-double-spoke design wheels for the 20" 10-spoke design wheels in titanium finish.  Then we'd wrap it in 3M clear film to protect the $3900 paint job.  Shortly after that, we'd drive the hell out of it.
