For the 65 th month in a row, Audi has set a monthly sales record. With 18,728 vehicles sold, a number of models improved over their May 2015 figures. The standouts, though, were the Q3 and the Q7.

“With the all-new Audi Q7 and Audi Q3 setting records for the month, sales of Audi luxury SUVs show no sign of slowing down,” says Mark Del Rosso, Executive Vice President and CEO of Audi of America. “From SUVs to the R8, consumer interest across the Audi lineup indicates that we can expect to continue building momentum in the months ahead.”

May sales rose 1.6% in 2016, with Q3 sales rising 52% and Q7 sales rising 46%. From January to May, meanwhile, sales rose 4.2% for the brand, with the same SUVs leading the charge. A4 sales rose 13% over that time, too, helping the average.

Other highlights include the A3 Sportback e-tron, which set a monthly sales record with 361 deliveries and 1,589 deliveries so far this year.

The year-to-date results help explain why Audi’s first quarter results are so robust, and the monthly figures indicate that the trend is continuing.
