Allan McNish has confirmed his attendance at Autosport International which opens to the public on 12-13 January 2013 at Birmingham’s NEC.

The two-time Le Mans 24 Hour race winner heads to Japan next week in contention for this year's FIA World Endurance Championship title and with over 25 years’ racing experience, including single-seater formulae and sportscars, is considered among the most accomplished of British racing drivers.

Dumfries-born McNish has also won the American Le Mans Series title three times along with victories at many of the discipline’s most prestigious races in addition to Le Mans - the 12 Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans events for the "factory" Audi Sport team.

McNish raced for Toyota in the 2002 Formula One season sandwiching work as "test" driver for championship-winning teams McLaren and Benetton Formula One. Allan has remained involved in the Formula One Grand Prix scene with his FIA Stewarding and Sky Sports F1 television punditry.

The Scot will appear at the show on both Saturday and Sunday where the Audi Sport Team Joest driver will relate his experiences of top-level racing to visitors. The show provides fans the opportunity to see their favourite drivers up close, meeting the characters behind the helmets and not just passing at 200mph!

“I am delighted to once again be part of Autosport International,” said McNish. “Taking place at the start of the motorsport season, the show welcomes many of my fellow drivers giving us a great chance to catch-up before the racing action gets underway.”

McNish will join the Autosport International line-up alongside BBC Formula One anchor Jake Humphrey who has already confirmed his attendance. Each year the show welcomes a number of the sport’s most famous names alongside impressive displays of precision driving, engaging and informative exhibits and a range of the world’s most exotic performance machinery.

Tickets for the show are on sale now. Adult tickets are available from £31 and children’s tickets available from £20. For more information call 0844 581 1420 or visit .
