Timed with the 100th Anniversary of the Audi brand is the first dedicated book on the Audi 100. Published in German under the title "Audi 100: Development, Technology, Design" as part of the Edition Audi Tradition series, it describes in detail the various generations of Audi 100 and their history. The authors Bauditz Andreas and Michael Modrow are self-described fans of the Audi 100 and the Audi brand itself - both working for many years as engineers at Audi in Neckarsulm.

This first extensive book tells the exciting histroy of the Audi 100 - to its popular version, the Audi 100 Coupe S. The work was created in close collaboration with Audi Tradition and includes photographs published for the first time and newly developed materials from the Audi factory archives. A detailed appendix includes technical and statistical data of all types for the Audi 100.

The Audi 100: For Four model generations was a serious competitor in the market. Once developed secretly in Ingolstadt by Dr. Ludwig Kraus, the Audi 100 quickly became a best seller for the Audi brand. The model was a precursor for the entrance of Audi as a carmaker for the upper middle class.

During the years of production from 1968-1994, the Audi 100 surprised the market repeatedly with breakthrough innovations like the five-cylinder petrol engine, quattro all-wheel drive, TDI technology and extraordinary product quality. The succeeding Audi A6 model builds on the story of success that continues to be written to this day.

"I was already an Audi fan since my earliest childhood," explains Andreas Bauditz. Besides a private archive of the Audi company history, he even owns some classics from the 1970s and 1980s.

Michael Modrow has been in tune with Audi since his youth and today is the owner of an Audi 200 Type 43. The authors' own personal ownership of Audi 100s is reflected in this extensive book.

The book "Audi 100: Development, Technology, Design" (ISBN 978-3 -- 8988-0899-6) comprises 192 pages and is available immediately for a price of 35 euros in bookstores, in the museum shop of the Audi Forum Ingolstadt, the Audi Forum Neckarsulm or online at www.audi.de / museum shop available.
