Friedrichshafen – “Super – amazing – fantastic”, the Friedrichshafen exhibition team is celebrating: The third TUNING WORLD BODENSEE far exceeded all expectations: 93,000 auto enthusiasts visited the tuning fair in Friedrichshafen that ended after four days on Sunday 29th May 2005. This equated to an increase of 55 percent in the number of visitors compared to last year and more than twice the number than in the first year. “We had not counted on an increase of this size,” admitted the managing director of the fair Jürgen Schmid and project manager Dirk Kreidenweiß. “It is a combination of a top-quality trade fair, a meeting of the club scene and a diverse program that the visitors to this exhibition appreciate”, said Kreidenweiß.
Between 26th and 29th May, 235 exhibitors displayed everything that makes cars more upmarket and beautiful. There were also 250 ‘private cars’ on display whilst the clubs were represented on a further 175 stands. In total, around 1000 upgraded vehicles were showcased ranging from top-quality vehicles owned by upmarket tuners to extravagant club cars. One highlight of the supporting program for many visitors were the autograph sessions with the cult tuners from West Coast Customs that shot to fame in the MTV program “Pimp my Ride”.
“The TUNING WORLD BODENSEE is now a compulsory fair for the industry. The market leaders in the industry come to Europe’s largest pure tuning fair for prestige reasons”, summarised the managing director of the fair Jürgen Schmid. “The most well-known tuners are represented at the TUNING WORLD BODENSEE; the fair has almost become a ‘must’”, said Manfred Meier from the company Lorinser Sportservice. Markus Bäcker, Marketing Manager of the company Irmscher, is also convinced that “The fair was a great success for us across the board – all our expectations were met.” “The fair has really moved forward”, commented Uli Schwarz, Export Manager Europe at Hamann Motorsport. The importance of this fair for the industry was also reflected in the exhibitor survey. A total of 96 percent of the exhibitors at the TUNING WORLD BODENSEE gave it the marks very good and good. This fair has also become a media event: 390 journalists (2004: 222) from 16 countries came to find out about the latest trends in the industry.
Auto enthusiasts can note the dates of the next TUNING WORLD BODENSEE, which will be taking place between 28th April and 1st May 2006; again, the fair will coincide with the first public holiday in May allowing a long weekend.
