Bright and sunny weather greeted the several thousand participants and over 200 registrants who traveled to Irwindale Speedway in Southern California for the fourth annual Dubfest Car Show-n-Shine.
This event held last September was marked with a wide diversity of European cars from all eras and backgrounds. This year Dubfest show promoters featured Porsche as their crossover brand. Organizers have worked diligently to bring additional high-end show cars and nationally recognized tuners to this show and the hard work has paid off in spades with the quality of cars on display both in the show field and in the vendor spaces.
In addition to the great turnout Dubfest contributed 50% of all raffle ticket proceeds to benefit Long Beach's Miller Children's Hospital. This was done in conjunction with the SoCal New Beetle Club (socalNBC). In addition the SocalR32 club worked in conjunction with Black and Decker to raise money for the benefit of the Katrina Victims and had 30 plus cars showing .
If that isn’t enough to cause you to book a plane ticket from wherever you might be, there were vendors such as Falken Tire, Rockstar Energy Drink, Tomas Sport Tuning, ABD Racing, 034EFI, MA Audio, EMT, Schmidt Wheels, Meguiars, Torque Factory, and Kettle and the Keg just to name a few.
Volkswagen of America was there to give rides in the MkV GTi to people interested in seeing just how the car would perform.
All in all, this was one event that nearly every person in attendance walked away from with good words to say as well as a vow to come back next year when the show promises to be even bigger and better. Should you be of like mind, make sure to mark September 17, 2006 in your calendars, as Dubfest has just announced the date for next year.
