The ninth Audi Twin Cup came to a close this weekend at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt following an exciting practical final. After a theoretical phase lasting several months, the finalists competed in typical work situations and put their outstanding practical skills to the test.
“When it comes to service, Audi wants to be number one in customer satisfaction within the premium segment”, said Jörg Felske, Head of Sales Germany at AUDI AG. “The outstanding performances in this year’s Audi Twin Cup have shown us once again how high the level of qualification and motivation is within our partner network.”
The basis of the outstanding performances in the Audi Twin Cup is also the holistic training and qualification program that AUDI AG offers Audi service partners throughout the year. “Our individual consulting- and coaching-programs ensure unsurpassed service quality”, Felske continues.
This year, some 1000 dealerships from throughout Germany participated in the preliminary rounds of the Audi Twin Cup. The 24 teams that qualified for the practical final came to Ingolstadt for two days in order to compete against Germany’s top Service and Technology teams. The jury’s assessment incorporated a long list of criteria, from behavior in simulated dialog with customers to the service directly on the car.
In the end the team from Autohaus Friedmann from Bühl won first price. Second place went to Autohaus Stengelmann from Bad Salzuflen, followed by the employees of AVP Automobilgruppe from Altötting. The winning team will represent Germany in the international finale of the Audi Twin Cup in 2009. There they will compete with the best teams from 40 countries, all holding a Twin Cup as well. Worldwide a collective of some 9.000 Audi service staff members participate in the Audi Twin Cup every year.
An additional highlight of the evening was the live broadcast from DTM winner Timo Scheider’s Champions Night. As representative of one of the main sponsors “Audi Top Service”, Bernd Hoffmann, Head of Customer Service and Original Parts, congratulated Scheider on his great success. The DTM champion in turn thanked the service employees for their outstanding support during the 2008 season and promised to be a part of the upcoming world finale of the Twin Cup, as he has been in past years.
